About Homestead Rescue
In the last decade, two million Americans have attempted to leave behind civilization in favor of life off-the-grid – but most have failed. For the hundreds of families who decide to become homesteaders, the learning curve is a steep one. Now comes new series Homestead Rescue, in which struggling homesteaders across the country are turning expert homesteader Marty Raney – along with his daughter Misty Raney, a farmer, and son Matt Raney, a hunter and fisherman – to teach them the necessary skills to survive the wilderness. The stakes are high, but the Raney family is determined to prepare these families for nature’s worst and set them up for success. Each family faces the ultimate decision: will they tough out their first year or pack up and return to civilization?
Only the baddest and toughest can survive as homesteaders – those that quite don’t fit the bill get a little help from the Raney family. Craftsman and survival expert Marty Raney, along with his skilled son and daughter, travel to the most dangerous and isolated locations across the country to help budding homesteaders become self-sufficient and reliable. After learning the necessary skills to survive in the wilderness, each family faces the ultimate decision: are they better fit for the homestead or civilization? Discovery’s HOMESTEAD RESCUE premieres June 14 at 10pm ET/PT.
In the last decade, two million Americans have moved away from civilization, but thousands will fail during their first winter, monsoon, or draught season.
