Four generations of Kilchers proudly live off the land that Yule and Ruth Kilcher homesteaded outside Homer, Alaska over 80 years ago after fleeing Switzerland in search of a free and simple life. The Kilcher family reside on their homestead consisting of over 640 acres of Alaskan wilderness, living off of the resources that the land provides; no running water, they must hunt, garden, gather, raise and protect livestock, cleverly recycle old-as-new and rely on their innovation in order to survive Alaska’s uncontrollable elements. Always pushed to their limits, the Kilchers both work together as a family, and face conflict between old and young generations.

Looking for info about Alaska: The Last Frontier. Would like to know if and when it will return to Discovery.
I AM REALLY MISSING ALASKA, THE LAST FRONTIER. IT WAS INTERESTING, LIKABLE PEOPLE AND ALSO ENTERTAINING AND EDUCATIONAL. WHY DO THEY ALWAYS CANCEL THE GOOD SHOWS AND BRING ON STUPID UNINTERESTING SHOWS IN THEIR PLACE. I AM 79 YEARS OLD AND LOOKED FORWARD TO THIS SHOW EVERY WEEK. WITH ALL THE OTHER JUNK ON THE TV THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO WATCH.
Gerry, I am 66 and I am also really missing Alaska, the Last Frontier. I binge-watched the first 7 seasons and really got invested in the family members and everything they did. I agree that it seems like the most interesting shows get cancelled and the junk just keeps on going! Hope to see a start day for Season 8 soon.

We get a good family show on and they cancel for some reason, I quess because they are no gays in it or not enough sex!!!This is the kind of shows we need on tv instead of all this other stupid shit thats on.
ATLF is about a bunch of suburbanites with every modern convenience available to them. I’d rather watch Yukon Men or The Last Alaskans.

I just witnessed the most ninept,inhumane harvest of a deer I have ever witnessed in my life,THREE people shooting at a deer ALL missing and then moments later the deer gets shot in the leg then shot in the back and then thank GOD finally put down point blank. I suggest these idiots move to la and buy their meat at safeway !they have no hunting skills whatsoever Again that was the worst spectacle of deer “hunting” I have ever witnessed in my life three people,six shots andd one dead yearling deer AWESOME Atchleys!! And awesome entertainment Discovery!!! RIDICULOUS
I am hoping that alaska the last frontier will be coming back on this fall. I totaly agree with the comments I have read. 8 12 2019
