About Ten Days in the Valley
Ten Days in the Valley Season 1 released October 1, 2017 on ABC.
Ten Days in the Valley stars award-winning actress Kyra Sedgwick as Jane Sadler, an overworked television producer and single mother, in the middle of a fractious separation. Jane’s life is turned upside down when her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. And just like her controversial police TV show, everything is a mystery, everyone has a secret and no one can be trusted. “Ten Days in the Valley,” a thrilling character-driven mystery, airs Sunday nights on The ABC Television Network.
After her award-winning documentary brings down the San Diego Police Department, Jane Sadler decides to turn her storytelling talents to fiction and launches a new television cop drama – a barely fictionalized account of corruption within the Los Angeles Police Department. But the pressures of balancing her demanding career with being a devoted single mother start to take their toll on Jane. When her daughter, Lake (Abigail Pniowsky), goes missing, and the Robbery-Homicide Division of the LAPD starts to investigate, Jane’s world quickly begins to implode.
Suddenly, everyone in Jane’s life is a suspect: her family, her co-workers, everyone in her inner circle. Pete (Kick Gurry), Jane’s ex, is a charismatic, unpredictable music producer and a recovering heroin addict, seeking joint custody of Lake. Ali (Erika Christensen), Jane’s younger half-sister, is loving, capable and pragmatic; but her own struggle to conceive – and her complex relationship with Jane – will cause her to question many of Jane’s choices. Ali’s husband, Tom (Josh Randall), is an ambitious, unemployed journalist, desperate for a break. Even Jane’s right-hand man and head writer on the television series, Matt (Malcolm-Jamal Warner), has his own demons; he is desperate to have his own series one day and can never seem to meet Jane’s unflinching expectations.
Working with – or in conflict with – Jane on this investigation are the police officers from LAPD’s top-tier Robbery-Homicide Division. Detective John Bird (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) is running lead on the case of the missing child. A strategically non-judgmental maverick investigator, Bird answers to Commander Elliot Gomez (Felix Solis), who presides over the LAPD Detective Bureau with the imperiousness and confidence of an oligarch. Commander Gomez’s beloved older brother is currently running for Attorney General, and right now, the Commander’s primary goal is to clean up the image of the LAPD.
And of course, there is also Jane’s secret source, Gus Tremblay (Francois Battiste). An undercover narcotics detective, Gus is also Jane’s confidante, lover, and her off-the-record source behind the “fictional” stories she’s telling on her series.
The series also features Ali Liebert as Nickole, Bird’s tough-ass colleague; Marisol Ramirez as Jane’s long-suffering nanny; Emily Kinney as Casey, Jane’s upbeat young assistant who desperately wants to look up to her boss as a role model; Currie Graham as Henry Vega, the charismatic yet demanding producing-director at the helm of Jane’s new series; Beth Triffon as Mackenzie, Jane’s script coordinator and a vulnerable romantic; Ella Thomas as Isabel, the complicated star of Jane’s show; Ali Stroker as Tamara, a writer and crack researcher in Jane’s writer’s room; Nelson Lee as Sheldon, the laid-back yet unpredictable drug supplier who launders his drug money through a popular taco truck business; and Mark L. Young as PJ, a street-smart neighborhood drug dealer who dreams of becoming a writer.

Shocked and disappointed to learn that “Ten Days in the Valley” has been cancelled. Kyra Sedgwick is a wonderful actress and we enjoy following TV shows in which she stars.
