About Ibiza Weekender
ITV2 checks in for more fun in the sun with a new bumper 10x60 series of Ibiza Weekender.
ITV2’s Ibiza Weekender returns for an extended sixth series, where viewers will once again be able to immerse themselves in the fun, flirtatious and often wild lives of their favourite reps as familiar faces are joined by a few new ones.
Twofour and GroupM Entertainment's Weekender brand, which has spanned five successful series, will focus on the comings and goings at a single hotel. From check-in to check out, the series also follows the fortunes of new groups of guests as they soak up the sun, look for romance and plunge into the island way of life.
With fixed rig cameras at the hotel, the series captures all of the drama and unabridged reality as it unfolds. Set against the backdrop of Europe’s biggest party island, expect high jinks, outrageous nights out and dramas around the clock.
The second series set in Ibiza grew its share in ITV2's key demographic, 16-34s, by +11% from series one, and grew its 16-24 share by +12%. The series boasted a strong 16-34 profile of 53%.
Satmohan Panesar, ITV Commissioning Executive, said: “For young Brits looking for a holiday abroad, you can't beat Ibiza, and for ITV2 viewers looking for a show packed full of fun, laughs and cheeky drama you can't beat Ibiza Weekender.”
Gyles Neville, Executive Producer, added: “It’s great to be back with the Weekender brand for an extended summer of fun. Not only is the rig setup perfect for unearthing those true seminal holiday moments but also for revealing the humour and lightness of great characters as we welcome back some familiar faces along with some new ones too.”
Ibiza Weekender will be executive produced by Gyles Neville for Twofour and Melanie Darlaston from GroupM Entertainment. It was commissioned by Satmohan Panesar for ITV2. The series is set to air in 2017.
