About The Junketeers
“Junketeers” Premieres on August 4 and Will be Distributed on Comedy Central’s YouTube Channel, Across Comedy Central Social Platforms Snapchat Discover Channel, Facebook, and Twitter, and on L/Studio (LStudio.com)
Comedy Central, the #1 brand in comedy, has joined forces with Los Angeles-based production company Kids at Play along with series creators Josh Horowitz and Ben Lyons and Lexus-owned digital content channel L/Studio (LStudio.com) to launch the multiplatform series “Junketeers.” Debuting today, the eight-episode workplace comedy is set in the absurd behind-the-scenes world of celebrity news correspondents and stars Brian Unger, Barak Hardley, Austin Lyon, Phil Augusta Jackson, and Amanda Lund. The series is available to binge watch now, with all episodes distributed today on Comedy Central’s YouTube Channel, Comedy Central’s social platforms—including Snapchat Discover, Facebook and Twitter—and L/Studio (LStudio.com).
Each five-minute episode of “Junketeers” centers on Unger, Hardley, Lyon, Jackson and Lund hitting the junket circuit and features hysterical and outrageous appearances by Josh Duhamel, Kristen Bell, Gillian Jacobs, Chloe Grace Moretz, Eli Roth, Emily Ratajkowski, Tom Felton, Matt Bomer and many more.
Jason Berger and Amy Laslett of Kids at Play and Lisa Eisenpresser of FullCourtPress are executive producers alongside Josh Horowitz and Ben Lyons. Josh Horowitz and Amanda Lund wrote the series, and Kimmy Gatewood directed all episodes.
Horowitz, a longtime correspondent for MTV News, says, “This is a love letter to our profession, if a love letter was filled with backstabbing, profanity, violence, and generally poor decision making and value systems. In all seriousness, Ben and I couldn’t ask for more supportive creative partners than Kids at Play, Comedy Central, and L/Studio. They’ve [perhaps foolishly] given us exceptional creative freedom and we’re truly thankful.”
“Josh and I have collectively spent over 20 years working as on-air hosts in the world of Entertainment ‘News,’ and a combined 1 million hours waiting in fancy hotels around the world for celebrities
to show up to be interviewed. We are beyond thrilled for the opportunity to shine a light on the underbelly of Hollywood, better known as the ‘press junket,’” states Lyons, a veteran former correspondent at E! and Extra.
