While heading home one night after playing dominos at a friend's house, Jannie was pulled over and forced to endure a horrifying sexual assault by an officer sworn to protect and serve. With the support of her daughter and Attorney Benjamin Crump by her side, Jannie was ultimately able to find the courage to go public with her story. The mounting media coverage by News One Now's Roland Martin and other national outlets put pressure on the police to find her attacker and alerted the community to a dirty cop on the force. Jannie's determination to find justice ultimately unearthed a shocking story of an officer abusing his position of power to routinely prey on multiple Black women.
