About Murdoch Mysteries
Set in Toronto at the dawn of the 20th century, Murdoch Mysteries is a one-hour drama series that explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), a methodical and dashing detective who pioneers innovative forensic techniques to solve some of the city's most gruesome murders.
Murdoch’s circle of associates includes Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris, Hatching, Matching and Dispatching), Murdoch’s eager and often naïve right-hand man; Inspector Brackenreid (Thomas Craig, Coronation Street), Murdoch’s skeptical yet reluctantly supportive boss; feisty pathologist Dr. Emily Grace (Georgina Reilly, The L.A. Complex); and the love of his life, pathologist-turned-psychiatrist Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy, Durham County), a staunch ally who shares the detective’s fascination with forensic science and innovative ideas. All are valuable allies who help Murdoch solve his varied cases and traverse the many stratums of Victorian-turned-Edwardian society.

Christmas cheer returns to Station House No. 4 once more with the second annual MURDOCH MYSTERIES holiday special, “Once Upon a Murdoch Christmas,” premiering Monday, December 12 at 8 p.m. (8:30NT) on CBC with an encore broadcast on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, at 5 p.m. (5:30NT). In the standalone two-hour special, Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) and Brackenreid (Thomas Craig) find their jobs at risk as they investigate a series of brazen robberies targeting Toronto’s wealthiest businessmen just days before Christmas. In keeping with the festive spirit, the special also includes a unique scripted integration with The Salvation Army, featuring the historic brand’s presence and message of giving written into the storyline. Commissioned by CBC and produced by Shaftesbury, “Once Upon a Murdoch Christmas” is written by Paul Aitken, Carol Hay and Michelle Ricci and directed by T.W. Peacocke.
It’s four days ‘til Christmas, and with no snow on the streets of Toronto, spirits are low until two bombastic businessmen barge into Station House No. 4 with a far-fetched story about a train robbery – a bandit is trying to steal Christmas! Murdoch (Bisson) is baffled but soon, more impossible robberies have him giving chase around the city. Crabtree (Jonny Harris) is convinced the bandit is based on his latest fictional hero but Brackenreid (Craig) dismisses this outlandish theory. Meanwhile, Constable Jackson (Kristian Bruun) forms a Station House No. 4 choir, but with only a few days to whip the singing constables into shape he begs Rebecca James (Mouna Traoré) for help. And Ogden (Hélène Joy) finds herself mysteriously spirited away after a family of children who need her help mistake her for a storybook heroine. Stories collide on Christmas Eve – and once again, Murdoch must find a way to pull off a Christmas miracle.

Adele says
I agree. The costumes, the setting, the story lines with an emphasis on invention and the early makings
of our technology is so much fun to watch. The magic the cast brings to the show is so enjoyable. They are
all my favorites. Keep this show on for a long time!!!

What has happened to THoma Craig (Inspector Brackenridge I have not seen him on the show lately

This show ranks among the top 5 I can remember – I go back to before commercial TV!! The characters are marvelous and have developed well over the years.
Will Dr. Grace return? She is still in the cast listings and web site photos. Hers was a great character and added another source for counter cultural input to the show. Don’t forget our favorite adventure who keeps losing to the “system”
Keep up the historical interplay – I love them. Now I note peripheral characters and events and look them up to see what is being “put over on us.” You can’t trust East Germans, indeed. .
Janice Shillings says
I love this show. Finally a show tge famiky can enjoy. I hope is continues for many seasons with the Murdich/Ogdens adopting a child that we can watch grow into a combination of his mother and father. What a great way to keep the story going.
Heidi Murphy says

Luanna Voth says
My husband and I have become hooked on Murdoch Mysteries. We were disappointed when it ended (Season 10). You’ve got to ‘bring on’ more. Season 11. Please!! (loved watching the bloopers)

Judith Ryan says
This is my favorite show! I’m rewatching all the series right now. I love the hints and suggestions of future gadgets and technologies. All of the characters are very well defined. I also hope Dr Emily Grace is brought back. Please keep this show for a long time!
Joe Holland says
Scripts, characters, and a fulfilled love story………to lose this show would be a travesty.
At last a series done the right way……I hope the americans pay attention!!!!!!!!!
Audrey Wissinger says
I too am addicted to this show. I’ve watched 1-7 on Netflix twice now. I did subscribe to Acorn for a month to binge watch 8-10, but, after paying what it cost to join Amazon, I resent that one has to pay AGAIN another company to continue watching a series. This is not the only series this is true of! So besides the “cable bill” there’s the Netflix, the Amazon, and now they want Acorn!! How far can a person stretch? Well, being on a fixed income….not that far! Sorry to complain, but it upsets me!
Suzanne Maree Burdekin says
I love watching Murdoch mysteries I reckon it is a fantastic show and my favourite character is George Crabtree because he is terrific and he has a great body and I wish Emily Grace on season 11 so they can fall in love again and get married and start a family. I think she is better than Nina Bloom
from a Murdoch mysteries from Australia
Delores Bennett says
But Emily Grace is gay.
Luanna Voth says
I like her too. Couldn’t the show have her become “ungay”? 🙂
Linda Lawrence says

Susan Barber says
Just added Acorn to find that Murdoch Mysteries is only through season 10. SHOCKED since we have always watched this way in the U.S. will drop until they show it. So disappointed I know that one season 11 has shown.
Sharon in Missouri says
