About Victoria
The ambitious 8-part first season follows the early life of Queen Victoria from her accession to the throne at the tender age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. The series chronicles the public and private life of one of history’s most interesting and influential monarchs.
Producers of Victoria have confirmed the potential for the drama to be a 'long-running' series spanning 63 years of the queen's rule (Season 1 covers only the first three years).
Victoria Season/Series 1 premiered August 28, 2016 on ITV in the UK and January 15, 2017 on PBS in the US.

Following the critical acclaim and record ratings success of the first instalment, the second will again be written by creator and executive producer Daisy Goodwin, and see Queen Victoria face new challenges both at home and abroad.
Picking up six weeks after the first series ended, the new season establishes Victoria as a working mother, learning to balance her responsibilities as both parent and Queen. However, Prince Albert is still struggling to find a role for himself alongside his powerful wife as she returns to her duties.
The teasers for the upcoming series follow the announcements that acclaimed British actress Dame Diana Rigg has joined the cast as the Queen’s new Mistress Of The Robes, the Duchess of Bucchleuch, and Line Of Duty star Martin Compston will be making a guest appearance as social activist Dr. Robert Traill.
The pair joins returning cast members including Nigel Lindsay (Unforgotten), David Oakes (The White Queen), Daniela Holtz (Circle Of Life), Catherine Flemming (Tatort) and Nell Hudson (Outlander).
The eight-part series and two-hour Christmas special has been commissioned by ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill, and production will be overseen by Senior Drama Commissioner Victoria Fea for ITV. It will be executive produced by Damien Timmer (Endeavour), Kate McKerrell (Lost In Austen) and Daisy Goodwin for Mammoth Screen, and once again produced by Paul Frift (Room At The Top). Directors for the series are Lisa James Larsson (Striking Out), Geoffrey Sax (Endeavour), Jim Loach (Endeavour) and Daniel O'Hara (Silent Witness).
