I think cancelling Elementary after season seven is aa colossal mistake. while it is a crime drama, the setting, characters, and the actor are superb, the storylines are exceptional and stand far above other such dramas. I do not think you will find l a comparable new show that will ignite the interest for fans who have followed Elementary faithfully for what will be seven years. I hope you will reconsider its cancellation. Thank you.

I 100% Agree! When I was watching season 7. I didn’t even know it was the last season till the last episode. I was like what time jump quick closure the end. I’m super sad to see this canceled. Dumb reality tv has taken over. I usually don’t like crime shows. Though elementary was simply Brilliant. I loved the complexity of it. Every show I really start to get into gets canceled. Then it gets replaced with some cheesy sitcom or so called reality show.

Running into people at untimely manners might have been how i first took an interest in Johnny Lee Miller soon after watching The Escapist (2002), in which he played a similar kind of character of sorts. Then i literally bumped into him when he was probably doing research for a role (in Sweden). Around the same point in time as Miller did escapist Lucy Liu did Ballistic (2002), that even though being a dime a dousin action flick it had some stand out effects in the origina cut that only ever Matrix (1999) came close to, She’s also been in some Jackie Chan movies earlier on or if it was Jet Li movies (unlisted afaik on imdb) – either way she was allready established and even if she is the female version of Keanu Reeves she often does seeworthy roles.
They key feature in Elementary is chemistry, they do have it, even though the dialogue has become sort of stale and underdeveloped at the same time as the focus on smaller plot items has vanished dilluting the chance of quirky dialogue even more. There also used to be a 5th wheel (Sherlock’s brother and Father) which made for some, even though often feeling constrewed, plotlines. Once they were gone there were several attempts to get another working character into the plotline, but the adapting to the quirks of the main character there was really ever one that could act well enough – Tim Guinee as NSA agent McNally (Nelsan Ellis as Shinwell is worth a mentioning but the plotline surrounding him often felt quite forced).
So when i came across Elementary on the TV i decided to check it out And it was an entertaining show, with just a little bit better writing and 10-15minutes longer episodes it could probably have been an even bigger hit.
