NBC confirmed late Friday that the supernatural drama based on Charlaine Harris’ novels will not return for a third season.
A journey into a remote Texas town where no one is who they seem. From vampires and witches to psychics and hit men, Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those who are different. Why do you keep cancelling GREAT shows on NBC and leaving the viewers up in the air as to what happens next ? I’m NOT even in your demographic age group of 18-49 year olds and I absolutely LOVE the idea of THIS show !!! Now what are you going to do ??? Start another show and once people get hooked on it cancel it by the second season like you did this one and another one called “Timeless” ??? You need to wait and find a fan base and NOT keep switching days or times on people, so the ONLY thing you can do is cancel the show ! I just watched the “series” finale tonight, but it was put out there as the SEASON finale !! And to make matters worse, you started another story line as the show was ending…so what ARE you going to do now ??? A hurry up 2 hour finale to tie everything together like you did with “Timeless” ??? It NEVER leaves anyone satisfied and the only thing it does do is leave everyone with more questions…about the story line, characters, etc. No wonder NBC has been ranked (well, it used to be just 3 major stations) far below ALL of the stations including non major stations that are NOT affiliated with NBC, CBS or ABC. Might as well turn my attention to ANY station NOT affiliated with NBC. from now on !

I’m with what Karen had to say! You get hooked on these shows and poof it’s gone. Why not put it on late at night if it’s not rating the top numbers you’re looking for? A lot of us LOVED that show!
Yes, why not just put it on late at night instead of prime time?!!! Midnight Texas was/is a great show, as was Timeless! Bring them back!

I agree completely.. Every time I get Interested in a good show it seems to be cancelled. If I never got to watch the show when it aired I always watched on the NBC app or Hulu the next day.. This is such a let down.. This happened to me with the show Grim.. I don’t know why they do this to us people that are Interested and that do watch the shows they cancel.. I hate to be left hanging with the Midnight Texas ending!!!
Grimm was on for 6 seasons and may get a spinoff. I do wish they’d give good closure before cancelling many shows, though.

Who are the “smooth brains” that make the decision to cancel profoundly interesting and entertaining shows. Oh, probably some network goon with an IQ of 88 on a good test day. Why can’t the mindless shows ever get cancelled. Maybe Netflix, Hulu or Amazon will rise to the challenge and produce better shows like Midnight, TX and Timeless. Thank God for those three. They have produced some decent shows recently. I guess we must dumb ourselves down to enjoy the rubbish that the networks tell us we should watch.
I love this show and think another network would benefit greatly from renewing this show. Look at the cult following of supernatural and true blood. We need to speak out louder for this show!

. Its no wonder network show ratings are down. You find one that you look forward to watching each week , then it cancelled. Midnight Texas was such a show. In years past Friday night was the best for tv, now there is nothing worth watching.
What the hell !!!! Bad move on NBC’s part BOOO!!!! on you NBC BOOO!!! Loved the show loved the people. I know the town is not a real place but damn . I would live there. Not a happy woman. I am going to drop HULU because that was the only place I watched it. BOOO and HISSSS NBC.
Midnight Texas is a great show, I suggest you bring it back or I will be viewing other networks, I’m also very tired of these great shows being canceled. You are hurting your own ratings by canceling the shows people want to see, I am very disgusted by this!!!!
My suggestion is that you reconsider, this show was GREAT, and people are tired of these shows being canceled!!! The actors were also great and added to the show’s appeal. If this is canceled I will be watching other networks and also looking for the smart ones to pick this show up.
I love Midnight, Texas!!!! Don’t cancel it! Every time a great show comes on that I love it gets canned! Like Ghosted, that was a great show also. Don’t take away Midnight, Texas too.
Are you people crazy, cancelling another great show??? Maybe if you had any brains you’d realize that since it was on Friday not everyone was around to watch, so they recorded it??? We usually were able to catch it, but when we couldn’t we definitely recorded it. My advice, reconsider and get this show back on the air!!!!!!

What is wrong with you people at NBC…shows that good you cancel and keep some really crappy shows that are bad……Midnight Texas was great… supernatural stuff….people are really tired of the shows you all thing is good….it is so sad that the higher ups at NBC are not good. I just found out this show as cancelled after waiting thinking it was going to start the end of July….. I think I’ll just watch cable channels.

I’m also sick of getting hooked on a show only to have some idiots cancel it. If somebody else picks it up, I’ll be super happy and watch it. Myself and others I know are not going to watch NBC anymore, they don’t have a brain going if they cancel the shows people love.
Our family love supernatural SCFI and this show is a great hit with us watching it together. The stories and acting are all terrific and multi-faceted / interesting.. I agree with another reviewer that why are so many interesting shows being canceled. With all the competition of Amazon, Hulu, Sling, Netflix, Showtime, HBO………… their ratings are good. Please revisit this and bring back this show !!!!!
