In Sneaky Pete, con man Marius, with nowhere else to turn, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate, Pete, and then “reunites” with Pete's estranged family—who have no reason to suspect he's not their long-lost loved one. When a gangster holds his brother hostage for ransom, Marius must find a way to free him while at the same time struggling to keep his lies from backfiring. Meanwhile, his new “relatives” are a colorful group who give him a taste of the loving family he's never had, but have secrets and lies of their own that threaten to drag Marius into a world every bit as dangerous as the one he's trying to escape.

I’ll have completely forgotten about it by then.
All series have one season per year.. The production company has to wait until they know that they have a contract from the studio for any following season, so they never start filming until that decision is made.
And filming takes time. But even before a season is filmed it has to be written and approved by the executives..
There are times when a studio has confidence in a series and contracts for multiple seasons, but that’s rare and usually only happens after showing high ratings during previous seasons of the series..
Seasons used to contain 13 episodes each, but for quite a while now they have only contained an average of 10.
